Her Royal Highness The Nnabagereka of Buganda, Sylvia Naginda was the first visitor to the newly launched Bombo Community Tourism Initiative. The aim of The Nnabagereka’s visit was to learn how the Bombo Tourism Initiative was developed, its activities and its intended impact. She came with an entourage of 15 people who included ministers from Buganda Government, Trustees of the Nnabagereka’s Foundation and the media.

Sylvia Naginda was received by Maria Baryamujura, Founder of COBATI, and Nubian community officials and members. She visited the Mini Cultural Center, met community leaders and interacted with the women artisans. She had a village tour and made a stopover at two of the participating home stays where she received a weaving lesson by the women at one and a Nubian cuisine showcase at the other. At Wabikokoma Village, Sylvia Naginda met and addressed the community and joined the dance troupe in the Doluka dance.

The Nnabagereka thanked Nubians for conserving their culture, commended COBATI and MTN Foundation for empowering the community and also pledged to support rural tourism development in Buganda Kingdom as it was good for cultural conservation and peace building.
